Build a price book you actually trust

Build a price book you actually trust

Your price book is the single biggest lever on estimating speed and accuracy. Build it once, well, and every bid gets faster.

Start with assemblies, not line items

Group materials + labor into assemblies ("install 1 SF of 5/8 drywall") so you're pricing the way you actually build, not hunting individual SKUs.

Keep costs live

Tie material and labor costs to current rates so a price change updates every assembly that uses them. A stale book quietly loses you money.

Separate cost from markup

Keep raw cost and your markup (overhead, profit, contingency) in separate layers. Then you can re-price to the market without touching your margin policy.

The best price book is the one your whole team uses without second-guessing.
